Serenity Lodges is owned and managed by Lester and Carina Gordon. Lester is from the concord village in Dominica. "Growing up here allowed me to explore every corner of this unique community and love the rich diversity, history and culture that it holds. We are blessed to have among us many of our elders who can give stories way back to the early part of the 19th century when there were no roads, electricity and airports". Carina was born in Venezuela and grew up there for part of her life, then moved to Grenada where we met in 2005 following the passage of hurricane Ivan. I had gone to assist with repairs on the Island of Grenada when we met. She speaks Spanish fluently, I speaks creole and French and we both speak English. We have two children, Sienna and Nathan. Our love for people and our desire to share with them the adventures and cuisines of the Caribbean moved us to open our guest house in 2012. We have welcomed person from every corner of the globe and from their reviews we can say that we achieve our objective of providing affordable, enjoyable accommodations on the nature Isle."
Speaking of Cuisine, do you know that Dominica boast unique Caribbean style dishes that only the Islanders can deliver? This is because intrinsic to the taste are our local herb seasonings and cooking methods employed. Carina and I have mastered the art. We deliver excellence every time. The reviews says it all.
The atmosphere at Serenity lodges is one of Family, peaceful, quiet escape, space. It allows for rest, reflections, moderate adventure, a change of pace. We all need that at times, essential to the personal wellbeing. It engenders a deeper appreciation for the small things that often go unnoticed, the rustling of the leaves in a calm breeze, the sound of the river in the distance, a hummingbird bobbing on a hibiscus, the chatter of Jaco parrots in the evening hours, the shadow of agouti after the click of the your camera. It is nature saying to you, welcome home my friend.
